Noor Youssef Al-Bu Saqr: A Light That Illuminates the World
Noor Youssef Al-Bu Saqr is not just a name—it is a message and a dream that transcends borders, bringing hope to the world. A truly exceptional talent, Noor embarked on her journey of brilliance from an early age. Her path to success began in middle school when she started participating in the "Mawhoob" competitions and the enrichment programs offered by "Mawhiba." At the time, she had no idea that these experiences would open doors to a larger world, shaping her unique scientific legacy.
Reflecting on her journey, Noor says:
"I knew I was talented, but I didn’t realize the extent of my potential until my mentor in one of the Mawhiba programs discovered it. That was my turning point—she nominated me for the ‘Future Scientists’ program."
This prestigious program is an initiative by the Abdul Moneim Al-Rashed Humanitarian Foundation, in collaboration with its strategic partner, King Faisal University. It is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare outstanding and gifted high school students for scientific research and to equip them for admission into the world’s most prestigious universities. The program aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to foster a new generation of innovative thinkers and global contributors.
For Noor, the "Future Scientists" program was the key that unlocked the vast world of scientific research. However, her journey was not easy. She recalls:
"At first, my understanding of scientific research was very basic, given my age and academic level. But with the guidance of top professors and specialists, I found myself learning, questioning, and exploring. Scientific experiments became more than just theoretical knowledge—they became real, hands-on experiences."
Despite being only sixteen years old, Noor was not just an outstanding high school student—she was a published researcher. This rare achievement at such a young age was just the beginning. Driven by her deep passion and inspired by her family’s background in the healthcare sector, Noor aspires to pursue a career in biomedical engineering. She dreams of pioneering new treatments for patients who have lost hope in finding a cure. She wants to be a beacon of light and hope for them.
In the first edition of the "Future Scientists" program, Noor worked on an ambitious research project titled:
"Innovated Wound Dressing Based on Cellulose Acetate Containing Ternary Metal Oxide Nanocomposites."
This project aimed to address the problem of slow healing in chronic wounds, ultimately improving patients' quality of life.
Noor’s dedication and excellence in the program earned her a spot in the second edition. However, the road to success was not without obstacles. One of the biggest challenges she faced was finding a specialized supervisor for her project, a process that took a significant amount of time. But Noor refused to give up. She reached out to as many academics and experts in the program as possible. With persistence and unwavering belief in her mission, she eventually found the right mentor and completed her project.
In 2024, after relentless effort and dedication, Noor participated in the Ibdaa (Creativity) competition, where she advanced to the national exhibitions. She then took her project to the international stage by competing in the ITEX International Invention and Innovation Exhibition. Her participation was not just symbolic—she won the gold medal, a prestigious recognition of her hard work and ambition.
This is Noor Youssef Al-Bu Saqr—a student who is more than just academically gifted. She is an inspiration, a success story that began with a single step and continues to pave a path of excellence and innovation.
