Ziad Al-Adwani: My story began with “Why?”
Ziad Al-Adwani: My story began with “Why?”
Ziad Al-Adwani, an industrial engineering student and one of the winners of the Rashid Al-Rashed Award for Talent and Creativity, who excelled and distinguished academically, says about his experience:
In my early stages of study, I used to participate in class and extracurricular activities, and I enjoyed them very much. My teachers always encouraged me to participate in activities, such as public speaking. This stage was the beginning of my interest and passion, but it was not a fully nurturing and stimulating environment until I learned about the Rashid Al-Rashed Award for Talent and Creativity when I was in the first year of secondary school. This award was a new opportunity with high standards and completely different from what I knew at the time. When I first heard about it, the first question that came to my mind was: Why this award? And why does this entity offer us this opportunity?
“These questions were the real beginning of my journey. Thanks to God, I had the opportunity to participate and be nominated for the award for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019). During the personal interview, the committee asked me about my dreams and goals, and my goal at the time was to study industrial engineering, which is the major I am studying now, thanks to God and His guidance.”
Ziad adds: “The award had a great impact on my personality, as I found an attractive environment for students my age, where we learn from each other and communicate with scientific figures, benefiting from their experiences and advice. After graduating from high school with an excellent grade, my dream of studying industrial engineering came true. Then I sought to expand my circle of relationships and experience outside the scope of my academic specialization, and this is what the Rashid Al Rashid Award Association achieved for me, which continued to embrace students in all stages of the award.”
“The early experience that the award provided me, and immersion in diverse and high-level professional communities, was a strong motivator for my ambition. I believe that the continuous pursuit of learning and development is the key to success in life."
Ziad's story did not stop at the Rashid Al Rashid Award, but he continued on his path with passion and determination, believing in his potential and capabilities. In addition to his academic specialization, he ventured into the world of artificial intelligence through cooperation with Sadaya at the Kingdom level. Ziad says: "The journey was in successive stages, and thanks to God, I qualified for advanced stages in an intensive training program." With his belief that success breeds more success, he participated in several hackathons and achieved honorable results, thanks to God's grace.
Finally, Ziad concludes his story by saying that these successes are only part of the support that the Foundation provides to him and all talented students in their academic career.
